The inaugural Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds represents the pinnacle of triathlon competition in the UK, providing recreational triathletes with a once in a lifetime opportunity to compete on the same course as the world’s best in their last ITU race on home soil before the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

On Sunday June 12 2016 up to 6,000 triathletes of all levels of ability will #TriLikeAPro on the unique ‘point to point’ course with two separate transition areas. Starting with an open water swim in the glorious Roundhay Park, the bike leg will see participants complete laps in and out of Leeds city centre before completing the iconic run course and crossing the finish line in the bustling Millenium Square in front of thousands of spectators.

From 2pm, it’s the turn of the world’s fastest triathletes to take to the stage.  Contested over the Olympic distance with a more technical, city centre based bike course, both races are guaranteed to deliver a thrilling showcase of endurance and strategy in front of patriotic locals who will be lining the course in their thousands.
