AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds announced as British Championship and World Triathlon Qualifier
10 November, 2020
British Triathlon are delighted to announce that AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds will host the British Standard Distance Triathlon Championship for 2021 and a qualifier for the Great Britain Age-Group Team for the 2022 World Championships.
Each year, top events from around the country are selected to host age group major events such as national championships and qualifiers for the Great Britain national team.
These events represent the highest national level of multisport activity for age group athletes, and AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds will welcome athletes from across Britain to Roundhay Park on 5 and 6 June as they seek to become national champion and to secure a place at the 2022 World Triathlon Standard Distance Triathlon Championships.
Next year marks the fifth edition of the event in Leeds and will provide opportunities for participants of all abilities to swim, bike, run in and around Roundhay Park.
All races will start and finish in Roundhay Park for the first time, giving all participants the same unique blue carpet finish whether they’re completing their first GO TRI or claiming gold in the elite triathlon or elite paratriathlon races.
Following the cancellation of championship and qualifier events in 2020 due to Covid-19, next year sees a full calendar of age group major events scheduled to take place. The full calendar can be found here.
AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds is open for anyone to enter, however only Core or Ultimate members of British Triathlon will be able to compete for championship titles and be eligible to qualify for the Great Britain Age-Group Team.
